Women’s Day: Ukhand government launches interest-free loan program for women SHG
The state government on Monday launched an interest-free loan program for women’s self-help groups and distributed loans worth 5.27 crore rupees to 156 of these groups during a program in Gairsain to mark International Women’s Day.
Addressing the event virtually, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced a cash incentive of Rs 10,000 for all workers in Anganwadi and Asha who volunteered their services during the COVID-19 crisis.
Rawat announced Rs 15,000 each for all Mahila Mangal Dals and SHG women.

Citing another example, Rawat said that the Mukhya Mantri Ghasyari Kalyan Yojana was started to help women residing in hilly areas who are often victims of accidents while collecting fodder in forests.

Meanwhile, Higher Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat handed out checks to 11 SHG women engaged in the production of milk and vegetables, rice, juices and pickle wrappers during the ceremony.
The Minister of Higher Education also inaugurated a Center of Excellence at the government polytechnic school of Gairsain which will add value to local products and help develop a market for them. Rawat was scheduled to attend the program in person, but due to his sudden departure for Delhi, the Minister of Higher Education intervened.
