Waterville start-up wins first prize for entrepreneur award
Have you heard of “The Cubby”? Well, if not, you’re going to be hearing a lot more about it in the coming weeks. The Cubby just won the Top Gun Showcase award from the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs last week.
Pretty exciting things when you realize that the Waterville start-up was created by students to help students sell their works of art through an online marketplace.
According to Mainebiz, the Top Gun Showcase award will net students $ 25,000.
For newly established students, this allows buyers to support emerging artists and the best part of course is getting access to unique works of art at an incredible price. Another cool feature is that the total price goes directly to the student artists at no cost or additional cost.
The Top Gun Showcase awards program is a collaboration of the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs, University of Maine, Lewiston Auburn Economic Growth Council, and Thomas College.
