The pair of Hibs called up for the Scottish Under-21 team
Hibs duo Josh Doig and Daniel Mackay have been named to Scot Gemmill’s Under-21 squad for a double friendly against Northern Ireland next month.
The games take place on Wednesday June 2, KO 3 p.m. and Saturday June 5, KO 2 p.m.
The head coach has named a 24-man squad for the games, with only Brian Kinnear, Lewis Mayo and Glenn Middleton remaining from the previous team nominated in October 2020.
Both matches will take place behind closed doors at C&G Systems Stadium in Dumbarton and provide Gemmill with a valuable chance to get the youngsters back on the pitch ahead of the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying starting in September. .
Athletic Bilbao forward Ewan Urain is among the new faces, receiving his first call in Scotland.
