Southgate Mall to host 4th of July celebration and career exhibit
After a year without celebrating the traditional 4e July break, Southgate Mall will once again host its popular celebration.
KGVO spoke with Southgate Shopping Center Manager and Goodwill Ambassador Tim Winger this week about this year’s Independence Day celebration.
“We’re absolutely (celebrating),” Winger said. “Our town band will be there, and fireworks will start around 10:30 pm We will have food trucks, and there will be all kinds of stuff going on. It will be like a few years ago. It will be a regular event and at this point we do not anticipate any restrictions. “
On another topic, Winger said Southgate Mall will host an employment exhibition later this summer.
“We have worked and spoken with many different companies over the past six months and it has become evident that labor shortage is a recurring theme with many different companies inside and outside of the world. mall with other people. who I work with and who I interact with, ”he said.
Winger said that once Governor Gianforte ended additional unemployment benefits, it became clear that local businesses needed a forum to help them find new employees.
“When the legislation went into effect regarding unemployment benefits, we thought it would be a good time, and many companies have already signed up and agreed that it was a good idea to have an exhibition on the job and we are going to hold it July 15 from 12h00 to 18h30 ”
Winger said there are already several different companies and employers who will have exhibits at the job fair.
“At this point, we have medical care; we have industrial; we have the manufacturing; we have health care; we have municipalities and school districts, so we have quite a number of participants so far.
