Real Sociedad 1-4 Barça: return to second half
FC Barcelona maintained their dominance in Liga Iberdrola with a 4-1 victory at Real Sociedad. Jennifer Hermoso won one treble and Lieke Martens got the other in San Sebastian. The game also saw Marionne play him 200e match for the team being the only player who has appeared in all 44 matches this season, and the match was also number 100 for Luis Cortés as a trainer.
And there were other benchmarks. Ornella became the second youngest player to debut for the team, and we’ve also welcomed back Jenni and Graham from an injury
However, it was the Basques who struck first. Eizagirre converted a penalty early and Real still had that slim lead when the halftime whistle sounded.
The equalizer did not come until the 50e minute, and it was only in the final quarter of an hour that Barca really dominated, taking the lead and then adding two more to secure a 4-1 victory.
The team will stay in the Basque Country to play against Athletic Club on Tuesday June 22 at 4:00 p.m. CEST
