New York Village Hall raided after fire kills senior firefighter
A statewide investigation now involves a raid on a Hudson Valley village hall following a blaze that killed a firefighter and an elderly person.
The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office along with state and federal investigators raided Spring Valley Village Hall on Wednesday.
“We hope this action was a follow-up to the ongoing investigation into the fire at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults that killed resident and heroic Fire Lieutenant Jared Lloyd,” said Ed Day, director of the Rockland County.

NBC Reports the raid is linked to the deadly Evergreen Court fire in Rockland County in March. Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd was one of the first responders to the massive fire at Evergreen Court For Adults.
Lloyd was killed while searching for other people, determined to save anyone who was trapped. Lloyd was the father of two boys and a 15-year-old member of the Columbian Engine Company.
The fire also claimed the life of an unidentified resident.
Investigators are reviewing reports that an alarm system was turned off at the assisted living center for a Passover cleansing ritual and a torch was used for the oven.
