Legendary wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. is in serious condition and currently in a hospice. The 76-year-old’s liver and kidneys are both reportedly failing. His health was covered in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
“I don’t have a lot of specifics, but from what I understand he has withdrawn from dialysis and is in hospice care,” said Dave Meltzer. “It’s kind of a sign that it doesn’t look good.”
After taking over his father’s business, Jim Crockett Jr. was elected NWA President in 1980. He also won two subsequent elections. In 1988 WCW and Crockett Promotions were failing financially. He worked as a real estate agent and mortgage originator in the years that followed.
