Is Liverpool the best team in Europe? Stats rank the continent’s top 50 clubs
The 21/Season 22 is now behind us, after a season full of dramatic twists. Which club is ranked the best team in Europe?
Liverpool had won both Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, but fell short in the title race after a monumental comeback from Pep Guardiola’s side against Aston Villa on the final day of the season. City won their fourth title in five years.
Jürgen Klopp’s Reds suffered even more disappointment a week later, despite dominating possession and creating more chances, they were beaten 1–0 of Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris, a final marred by crowd trouble outside the Stadium of France.
Madrid again established themselves as the undisputed kings of Europe by sealing a 14th European crown.
According to a list compiled by ClubEloLiverpool are ranked as the best team in Europe despite failing to win their domestic league and losing in the European final.
