Have you heard of this crazy Delta variant symptom?
I was at the Brick Summerfest a few days ago to say how amazing it was to be back in the community and it really is! People were dancing and listeners came over to hug me and I felt like … well …Human. I had a feeling COVID was finally behind us, but then found out that two people I was talking to that night fell with the COVID variant.

I am fully vaccinated and know that many people at the event were protecting most of us. As far as I know, the two people I am talking about above were not vaccinated at all. I don’t know because I didn’t ask, but what I realize is wishful thinking isn’t necessarily reality. I want COVID to be a non-factor, but this Delta variant is gaining ground, especially in New Jersey.
Of course, our numbers are down overall, but among new COVID cases, the Delta variant is taking over. Also, the symptoms are SO different with the Delta version that it can be very difficult to diagnose. So, I wanted to post about Symptoms to Watch Out for with Delta, some of them will surprise you:
1. This symptom is crazy! With the original COVID-19, people lost their sense of smell and taste, but with the variant it looks like hearing loss is a side effect.
2. Stomach pain, cramps and vomiting have been reported.
3. Overall, nausea was a problem
4. Severe joint pain
5. Loss of appetite
6. Small blood clots have been reported
7. Excessive diarrhea
8. Lasting anxiety
This version seems more serious as most patients with the variant are more likely to have to go to the hospital for treatment. They are also more likely to need oxygen.
OK, are you ready for some good news? Experts say our existing COVID vaccine offers protection against the Delta variant. The spread occurs mainly in the unvaccinated.
