Fake COVID ID cards are a no-no
Just like a fake passport, driver’s license, or any such official document, having, making, or selling fake ones can get you in trouble.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has issued a notice reminding Americans that if they decide they don’t want the COVID-19 vaccine but feel the need to have this document or see the opportunity to create it for others. .. According to a FBI public service announcement, they remind people in mistakenly claim to be vaccinated; they say you are putting yourself and others around you at risk for COVID-19. Oh, and unauthorized use of the seal of an official government agency is a crime with penalties such as fines, jail time, or both.
Cards are official documents showing when and what type of vaccine you received, and the FBI reminds you that filling out just isn’t cool.
The FBI has also taken this time to remind Americans that posting photos of their COVID-19 vaccination card is not a good idea. This information could be stolen for fraud.
If you know someone who sells fake COVID cards, you can contact us to report them; all the coordinates are at the bottom of the FBI Public Service Announcement.
