EUnite Bilbao | World Economic Forum
#EUnite was born out of a collective effort of more than 30 hubs to celebrate unity in diversity on the annual Europe Day in May 2020 despite the upheavals posed by the COVID-19 pandemic that had challenged all EU Member States individually and as a whole. In this trying historic moment, young people from Europe want more than ever connect meaningfully at defend the values of cohesion and solidarity above national divisions.
Of Bilbao Pole we have been an active member in the direction of the activities and as a hub, we have not only contributed to collective initiatives, but we have also generated movement in our hub. The main activities were:
_The creation of a EU book with questions and games to deepen people’s knowledge of Europe. Although it was aimed primarily at children, it ended up being very large so that all ages could play. The booklet was distributed to some schools who shared it with students and families in their classes for children to learn something while having fun during the lockdown period.
_A rewrite of the Anthem of Europe version and the recording and editing of a multi-shaper, multi hub concert. One of our shapers is both a musician and a composer and leads a group of shapers to play a version of the European anthem of their countries and homes.
_Contribution to communication campaign with the reach of social media and collectively generated materials.
In 2021, the Bilbao hub is committed to being part of the leading group as well as to generating actions at the local level and which involve the Euro-Basque structure.
