CT “Proud Boys” says they organized a coat drive; the shelters say no thank you
A group identifying themselves as members of the Connecticut chapter of the Proud Boys said they did a coat drive, but the homeless shelters they claim to have donated say they would not have accepted the group’s donations.
“We haven’t accepted any coats this season. We have a huge amount of really wonderful coats, ”said Kandyce Aust, director of development at South Park Inn, a homeless shelter based in Hartford. “We wouldn’t take anything from them if they called us. There is no one who has donated so far this year that I do not know personally.
