Barefoot and Oreo team up for a new wine? Maybe not [UPDATE]
So, remember how thrilled we were to find that an Oreo cookie red wine blend would be available for drinking pleasure? Well … I hope you weren’t too excited.
Looks like the barefoot wine has cheated us all. While researching some discussion topics during Food News, I came across this.
Yes, it seems it was all just a publicity stunt. According to @foodiewiththebeasts on Instagram, no one is really going to buy wine. Where are they?
From what I understand, the day it was supposed to go on sale, the website already said it was FULL. Then a pop-up would ask for your email so they can send you a notification when the wine has become available. What was supposed to be Thursday (December 9, 2021).
I also read a story that at 10 a.m. the tie went on sale, it looked like you could order it, but then the person let the checkout go. Again, the pop-up requested an email to send a notification when the wine became available.
More and more companies are doing stunts like this. It’s so delicate and deceptive that I rarely write about new products because this stuff happens. Sometimes companies will ask you to enter some sort of raffle to win a new product. It’s all an effort to get your email to their database. It’s all part of their advertising and marketing strategy.
Long story short, I don’t think there’s any Barefoot Oreo Red Blend wine, which is pretty crappy. If I find out it’s different, I’ll definitely let you know.
When it comes to cookies, my all time favorite is Oreos. I love them so much, my favorite ice cream involves them too. But, when it comes to wine, I can also choose my favorite because of my obsession with the Oreo cookie. I know, it looks weird even typing it. When I saw on Instagram that Oreo was teaming up with Barefoot wines, I have to admit, the post caught my eye. Combining red wine with the flavors of chocolate and vanilla reminds me of another favorite of mine, chocolate covered strawberries dipped in whipped cream. No? I know this is overkill, but come on, it looks similar in the types of flavor mixes. So, for that reason, I’m totally into it. the one-of-a-kind blend features chocolate, cookie and cream flavors as well as oak notes, which perfectly complement the flavors of an Oreo Thins cookie.
For $ 24.99, you will receive two bottles of Oreo wine, packaged together and shipped to you.
You won’t be able to find it online until tomorrow, Thursday, December 9. Just go to BarefootWine.com/OreoThins.
I have no idea what time they are on sale, but you better believe the bottle sets will go fast.
